Young Parents Fun & Lunch Club: DROP-IN

This is a drop-in session for parents (with children 0-5years) and parents-to-be who are aged 21 years and under. It takes place on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month, although the timetable may vary slightly in school holidays.

A light sandwich lunch is provided for which parents and children can choose their fillings along with fruit. The session aims to encourage healthy eating habits and the use of doidy cups to help families to move away from bottles and lidded cups.

The session has play activities provided for parents to engage with their children i.e. play dough, sticking, imaginary play, construction, books and puzzles. There are also drop-ins by speech and language therapists and other health care professionals to offer advice.

Baby Massage: BOOKING ONLY

These are 3 or 4 week sessions in which you can learn basic baby massage techniques in a relaxing environment. The sessions are £10 and must be booked in advance. Baby massage is an extremely popular session so it is well worth having your name put on a waiting list. To take part, babies must have had their 6-8 week health check and must be immobile (i.e. not rolling or moving about too much – up to 6 months usually).

Baby Brasserie (Leighton Buzzard) DROP-IN

A social group for mums and mums to be who want to breast feed their baby. It is run by trained Breastfeeding trained staff and may include volunteers from the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) and Breastfeeding Network (BFN). Parents can come to get advice and support on any breastfeeding issue they are experiencing also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee & a biscuit in a safe environment. Older children are welcome too.

Baby Daze

A course for new parents with babies up to 4 months.  It runs for 6 weeks and covers topics such as: safe sleeping, feeding, Baby Brain, childhood illnesses, relationships and going back to work.  There is also demonstrations on Baby Massage, Baby slings, ending with cakes on week 6.

Baby Time

A weekly session for pregnant mums, parents and carer’s of non-mobile babies.  Come and relax, chat and make new friends.  We have various monthly talks, including weaning.

Baby Cakes (Invites Only)

Opportunity for invited parents of new-borns’, to meet others, learn about the Children’s Centre, have refreshments and chat.










Baby Signing (part of the Speech & Language Programme): BOOKING ONLY

Baby Signing is a bookable 3-week course in which basic signs are taught to babies over the age of 6 months. It is a course aimed to give families awareness of the importance of their child’s communication and how signing can support this. Parents will learn approximately 25-30 signs and will hopefully then feel confident to introduce the signs at home.

An ante-natal programme to prepare you for parenthood run by midwifes, health visitors, Children’s Centre staff and Speech & Language staff

Singalong Baby Sign: DROP-IN

Suitable for babies from birth to sitting.  An interactive session incorporating nursery songs & basic signing.
