Weekly Drop-In

Baby Brasserie: DROP-IN

brasserieA social group for mums and mums to be who want to breast feed their baby. It is run by Breastfeeding trained staff from the children’s centre, health team and breast feeding peer volunteers.  Parents can come to get advice and support on any breastfeeding issue they are experiencing or just come along to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee & a biscuit in a safe environment. Older children are welcome too.

Baby Explorers: DROP-IN

A weekly session for parents and carers with babies 0-18 months.  Come and relax, chat and make new friends. Refreshments are available.

Pop-ins: DROP-IN

popinThe Pop-ins are your opportunity to meet members of the health team & Children’s Centre staff & to discuss any aspect of your child’s development, get your child weighed and stay and play.  These run at two locations in Leighton Buzzard

On the first and fourth Wednesday of the month: 12:00-14:00 Leighton Buzzard Children’s Centre, East Street

On the third Friday of the month: 9:30-11:15 Astral Park, Johnson Way

 

Courses to book

Bumps, Birth & Baby Stuff: BOOKING REQUIRED

An ante-natal programme to prepare you for parenthood run by midwifes, health visitors and Children’s Centre staff. Expectant mums should be at least 26 weeks gestation or more when they start the course and have at least 4 weeks to go before their expected due date by the end of the course to be sure there is time to complete it.

Baby Days: BOOKING ONLY

A 5 week course for new parents with babies 0-3 months.  It covers topics such as: safe sleeping, feeding, Baby Brain, childhood illnesses, relationships and going back to work.  There is also demonstrations on Baby Massage, Baby slings, ending with cakes on week 5.

Baby Massage: BOOKING ONLY

baby-massageThese are 4 classes in which you can learn basic baby massage techniques in a relaxing environment, the course is £20 and must be booked in advance. Baby massage is an extremely popular session so it is well worth having your name put on a waiting list. To take part, babies must have had their 6-8 week health check and must be immobile (i.e. not rolling or moving about too much – up to 6 months usually).
